I just finished reading "All Corvettes Are Red" and came away thinking that John Cafaro, Russ McLean and Dave Hill are my Heroes. Amazing the battles that they fought and won to give us our "Toys".
I highly recommend the book.
I understand that John Cafaro is now "Chief" at Buick. However, I haven't been able to get any info on Russ McLean and Dave Hill. If anyone knows where they are now, it would be great to know.
In searching, I stumbled onto another book that's on line - Haven't read yet but sure looks good from just the pictures:
I read that book about 4 years ago. It is a good book for all Corvette enthusiast, but a must read for C5 owners. If you don’t know GM / Chevrolet history or the history of the Corvette, you may not know just how close it came to not have a C5 or the Corvette at all.

I totally agree! Must read for all Corvette owners. If it weren't for some very dedicated and determined people on the staff of the Corvette engineering and design groups, we wouldn't be here discussing this. They are my heroes too.
Or how about the question about whether Corvette or Harley Davidson is the bigger Icon?
That one drew a big chuckle.
I'd be laughing too, it would be like comparing a wheelbarrow to a sportscar. Only a real wheelbarrow would have more power. Harleys are famous at making the most noise from the least amount of horsepower, or they are the VW Volkswagon(Bug) of the motorcycle world being very popular but going no where fast.

Dave Hill still visits some Corvette shows like the big one in Frisco, Colorado. He is retired and my college friends who own a 65 know him as he's friends with friends of theirs and has stayed at their home in Silverthorne when in town occasionally.
