Has anyone tried the travel buddy cup holders and what do you think about it, I was interested in the dual but it looks like it would take up too much leg room.

Picture and web site please, I am looking for a cup holder that looks good and works. I do drink coffee while I drive and do not like using the holder provided. It is just not deep enough.

Take a look at the double cup holder available at Mid America. It sits on top of the console along the right side of the e brake. To me it looks like it belongs there, not just a add on. You will loose the use of the ashtray. I have used my for several years, no problem with shifting (automatic) or e brake and no loss of leg room.

There is also one available I just found out on the forum store that screws in where the factory holder is check it out and let me know what you think.

The travel buddy looks good. It does not look like it takes up much room. If you need to remove it you can. The add said that it just slips into place without any screws.
I did not care for the one that goes where the factory cup holder is.
The Christmas List is getting better:
1. Race Mesh for the muffler vents
2. Travel Buddy Double
3. SuperCharger..........wait, I think I was having a dream..........

I've got the Travel Buddy double from Custom Corvette Accessories,it's great, not in anyones way,and removes in about 2 seconds if it ever is.(which it won't be)
The double works out great-a soda in one, cellphone(or whatever you want) sits in the other.
It's not in my wife's way,and shes,well....."not small"

With everything but the wife comment
I also have it, and think it's a great piece of gear. It's what should have come stock with our cars. If you buy it you won't be sorry.

I have the double. You won't believe how stable or simple it is - the website shows you a picture. It didn't really answer my questions until I received it. So I'm not the spokesman, but I'll try to answer your concerns:

Deep enough not to worry about tipping. Wide enough to hold most cups and mugs. You slip the top under the lip of your console and the bottom rests on your carpeted floorboard.

Having said all that, the loss of legroom is negligible to my wife or I.

I don't know anything about console saddles or devices that hook over the berm into the back seat. Haven't tried one. I'd be a little worried about getting a lapful of hot coffee when somebody violates my right of way and I have to test the brakes. To me, low to the floor means less likely to require a dummy cord to remain where I left it...

I'm a satisfied customer. Your mileage may vary.

Good luck!

i have a double unit in my 04 CE convert and honestly don't know what i would do without it. it is easily removable if you feel the need to take it out, but i find it doesn't take up an exceptional amount of leg room. i haven't had anyone who has ridden in the passenger seat complain about it being in the way and that includes someone pretty small (my wife is only 4'9") and a couple of buddies in the 6' range. if someone were to find it taking up leg room, it could easily be put in place while you are looking for drink "storage" and removed when they are done until the next time.

my personal opinion is that it is a great item to have and you can't be the practicality. BTW i believe that the unit from midamerica is only going to work on the automatics and will be in the way is you have a 6 speed, but i'm not certain. even if it fit the 6 speed, to me i never considered it because it appeared to be in the way on the console.

These look nice. Do you need to remove the radio bezel in order to install it?

Thanks. Do you just slip it underneath between the bezel and the carpet?

yes, you install it by tipping it sideways, putting it up against the tunnel and then straightening it out. it fits under the center trim and rests on the floor. the lip under the trim holds it to the tunnel, the piece itself is supported by resting on the floorboard. real simple to install and just as simple to remove for storage if you wish. the travel buddy is the best product out there for installation and use in my opinion. unlike most of the others, it is not in anyone's way when in use and you can easily get to all HVAC controls, etc.

Default here's one in my c6 and I love it!

Sorry, couldn't add it right side up, but the double cupholder is great and it hasn't bothered my passengers at all.

I've had the single in my vert for several years. I won't use any other except for the double. You can't go wrong with the Travel Buddy!

I have the dual one and you are right. It takes up too much space. I keep it in my trunk because I can install it if needed in a matter of seconds. I doubt that I would leave the single in place either.

Cool! I usually don't drink or eat anything in the Vette, however I do like a nice large coffee for those early morning club runs, however I don't trust anything in the OEM flip cupholder.

I agree i had a double, and took it back, there's such limited room in a Vette especially on the passenger side i didn't like it when the wife was driving, and she didn't like it either takes up TOO MUCH room!
