Winter Storage Power Source
I had done this for 5 years in a row without any problems. When I install the battery in the spring, the voltage is still good and she fires right up.
I work with computers and I know that there are certain components (motherboards, RAID controllers, etc.) that have batteries to take over memory when the main power source is not available.
My corvette keeps the memory of all my setting, trip odometers, oil life etc. during winter without the main battery. Does the corvette use batteries on any components to keep that memory and am I harming the life of those batteries by removing the main power source for 5 months?
Please do not post based on a guess, I would like answers based on empirical data only.
