Well here's the deal, my driver's side door will lock every time with the key fob, when the car gets rolling, and even by hitting the door lock button on the passenger's side door panel. However, it will not lock when I press the lock button on the driver's side door panel. I had pulled the door panel to make sure everything is connected as it should be and everything looked fine. What could this be? Is there any way to check if the switch panel on the door panel is bad? Would this be a case of the door module going bad? Thanks in advance!
There has to be a simple way to test the switch with a meter, but being the dolt that I am, I might take it out and connect it to the pass door and see if it works there (and vice versa), just a thought.
I thought about trying that but I wasn't sure if the plug on the passenger's side would fit in the driver's side switch panel. I guess it'll be worth a shot to see.
Try swapping out the RDCM and LDCM and check again. If it works, then your LDCM has a bad relay. You can replace the relays yourself if you can get one and are handy with a soldering iron.
Theres a great how posted above on changing out the relays. It even gives you part numbers and the vendor to buy the relay from. I bought two modules at about $150 each before I found the how to and then purchased the relays for under $10. Its no big deal takes about 30 minutes
Thanks for the info! Any idea of where I could find that write up?
That write up has been removed and is no longer available. Your problem is not a door control module. If the door lock was intermittent with both the FOB and the other door switch, then I would agree. But I think you have a switch button or wiring problem. Easy way to test is to swap the two door control modules and see if the problem travels to the other door. If it does, then it is the door control module.

I had the link saved for the thread about the repair and it doesn't appear to work. That thread was so useful, I presume if it wasn't already, it is probably being made into a sticky. The original thread was authored by forum member bakersfield. You might try PM'ing him. For a while, I know he started to sell repaired door control modules... if you don't like to solder, that may be a way to go... good luck.

I know "Bakersfield" if anyone needs his help. Just PM me for his email address.
Well, I've finally got around to swapping the LDCM & RDCM and the lock button on the driver's side door still does not work, no change despite the switching of modules. Does this mean that my swtich panel is bad? Any other way to diagnose this? Thanks!

OK, I didn't think it was your module. Since it only effects your driver's side "lock" function, I am sure the lock button is the problem and you should replace it.
