Go to http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/fil...5_interior.pdf I'm sure there is a reason why West Coast asks you to specify if your vette is a coupe or convertible. Structurally, the covertible is different than the coupe and I'm almost certain that they are different in design in the cargo compartment . . . vert owners would for sure know. However, if a vendor is asking for you to specify the type vette you have, there is a reason. Hopefully, a vert owner will speak to this. Hope this helps with your technical investigation, now give the member his money back and sell your mats to an owner with the correct type vette. Ok, I'm just messing with you, but IMHO it would be the right thing to do. I think almost all of us from one time to the other has gotten either wrong data or thought something was something that it truly wasn't. Trust me, unless you grew up with these animals all your life or worked at a Chevrolet dealership, it does happen. Honest mistakes happen, it's how you take care of them that counts.

Guys, they came out of a 97 and sold to a guy with a 97. There were no verts in 97.

For anyone interested please look at this page. It clearly shows the difference between the two types of mats:

http://www.zip-corvette.com/GroupDet...%26+Cargo+Mats

The mat I sold him was for a coupe and he has a coupe. That is why I brought this whole thread up in the first place. Something doesn't make sense and I'm trying to find out whats up.

Cargo mat in my coupe fits fine, The pictures he sent have got to be the worst pictures I have seen in awhile, It would help if he sent you good pictures and of the whole area, Not just one side and then the other.

I have a coupe with a cargo mat and it fits great.

Looks like he might have a partion up in back of his seats. Can't tell much from those photos but it looks like the mat is too deep. The only way it could be too deep is if he had something blocking the area off. Something like a partion. JMT's

I have a 98 coupe and my mat fits just fine. Close like shown in the pictures but not that close. Maybe there is something in the rear towards the bumper area obstructing the way the mat should sit?

BTW: If it fit fine in your car, then it should be just fine in the buyers car. Have any pics of the mat in your car?

Looking at the pictures he appears to have some kind of partition installed, If you look at the rear speaker, You can't see it, I believe the mat you sold is correct and the buyer has a partition installed, All he would have to do is raise the partition and put the carpet under it.

Compare these 2 pictures, He has some kind of partition installed and if that is the case none of the mats will fit without removing the partition.

Maybe the other guys' car has been mini-tubed? His wheelwell looks pretty wide.

Maybe it's just a screw up from the factory. I've seen weirder things happen from the factory.

Check the F/S thread you linked. Someone posted yesterday that they would buy it at your price. Just have the guy that says it doesn't fit contact the new buyer & you're done.

In theory the mat from your 97 couple should fit just fine in my 04 coupe. Something is screwy somewhere!

A member posted he needed a part that he could not find, to get his vett back on the road. I had one so I sent it to him ASAP. Trying to help, I told him we would settle up later, I even paid shipping. I didn't even get a thank you from him after he had my part, so lesson learned. Good Luck. I will get my money first next time and their car can sit broke down!!!!
