I have a Pioneer AVIC-X920BT and I am really impressed with the way it works, sounds and handles my iTouch with 3300 songs on it.

You could get a regular double din radio. It probably won't be a popular option on this forum, but I'm going this route until I can afford the mac-daddy unit I want.

It has built-in Bluetooth calling, Bluetooth wireless audio, USB storage support, and iPod direct control. You can add on HD radio, Sirius, and XM radio as well.

All I'm giving up is DVD and integrated navigation. (I have a stand-alone Garmin that works just fine.) I'm not sure what the craze is all about for a reverse mounted back-up camera.

The expensive unit I want would be one of the high-end Kenwoods. I'd stick with them because I like their Garmin navigation.

Dennis, hooked me up with a Kenwood 5140, superb unit and love the Garmin Nav built in. I have the backup camera which works great when reversing in car park's. After having one of these in my SUV I doubt I will ever have a car without one.
You are right so many choice, many of my friends like Kenwood's also (fwtw)

Default Budget

I have had Dennis do both of mine and you can trust that he will give you good honest advice. I have Kenwood units in both of mine and love them. Give him your budget and ask what is the best for what you want to spend. He also has excellent prices and specials. You won't do better.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

So many questions

Right now
Best bang for th ebuck I would say is the Pioneer x920bt
plus there is 100.00 mail in rebates from Pioneer.
I also like the Kenwood 6960 as well.

Kinda depends on features
you ant awesoem nav and good ipod features?
or
awesome ipod and good nav?

sat radio? pioneer offers xm and sirius and kenwood only has sirius modules right now

bluetooth is pretyt much built into all of them as kenwood just disc. the 5160 that does not have bluetooth

there is units with no nav which will allow you to add nav later
Pioneer
3200bt
3200dvd
4200dvd

Jensen has a couple nice budget friendly units as well.
VM9224 non nav 250.00
VM9424 with nav 440.00

Sony also just released a couple new NAV units as well. I am looking for more info on these.

As far as Alpine goes. I am not a fan of Alpine double din units.
The have a new one out but have not heard much about it yet.

I would stick with Pioneer or KEnwood myself.

Going this week to see my supplier to set up the Black Friday specials as well.

I have some new products available that are very popular overseas with everyone. We are not allowed to sell them over the internet so I would have to get you info via email or phone call if you get my "Vibe" Great pricing on them as well

Kenwood has closeouts on the DPX 503 right now I can do real good on price.

What are some good kenwoods?

Kenwood 6960
Kenwood 7160
Kenwood 9960

I can not post pricing on these due to MAP guidelines with Kenwood Unless you want to pay full MAP retail

There is a 6160 but for 35.00 more for the 6960 you get a remote, and an extra year warranty which is worth it. The 6960 and 9960 both come with 2 year warranties

I just ordered a Kenwood Excelon DDX896 from Dennis. It's basically the non nav version of the 9960 which is Kenwoods top unit. I don't have any use for the Nav.
