I too have owned a C6 and went back to the C5. My original vette was a 97 coupe, then I bought a 00 FRC and took it to Germany and played on the Autobahn for a few years.
When I returned to the states I picked up an 08 coupe, sold it after 6 months, and bought a nasty black 03 Z06. The C5s just don't have the cheap interior look and feel and my wife is extremely happy with my return to the C5.
