Default active handleing codes?

getting the service active handling system soon light and these codes

TCS- c1287 and c1288 h..cleared and still coming back...ive read it could be a sensor or loose wire...anyone else have this issue....wont even let me put it in the competition mode..and the CEL light stays lit and allows me to push the button it says traction on or off but light doesnt change cuz of the code...im not gonna worry about it if its that PITA sensor cuz i dont it will effect the car just always have the system off?

Your steering wheel position sensor is shot and needs replacing. I had the same problem/codes, and had the sensor replaced. No issues since.

Just an FYI - I had the front driver-side brakes lock hard while driving down the highway at 70mph due to the sensor sending the wrong msg to the ebtcm. It almost sent me into the center divider. This active handling crap can be very dangerous when these sensors start crapping out

So is this a recall where the dealer will replace for free or am I stuck buying the sensor and doing myself? And ideas where to get the sensor or have a part number ??

I had mine replaced under warranty. I believe it's an $80 part, but 3hrs labor to replace. Here's a link with a ton of information:

No Z06 has a telescoping wheel, only tilt.

The best way to check if it's your steering sensor is with a Tech2.
