Default C5 checklist request

hey all, new guy here. i was told to ask for a check list of things to look for when in the market in the intro page since ill be in the market for a C5 in the near future hopefully in less than a year ill have one. but what are common problems found and what are things to stay away from and common signs of abuse.

ive had my current Z28 for close to 2 years and dont want to put any more money into it because of abuse from past owners, poor designing of the LT1 Opti design and the pull style clutch used. sure there are ways to remove the opti and go to coil per plug, but its around 2k just for an ignition system change. smarter idea to just buy a new car with the LS motor/ignition and the push style clutch opposed to pulling on the TOB.

i am also not sold on the Z06 since i dont like the look of the back window. im thinking of lookin at a 6 speed targa top coupe car with the big hatchback window. what are the advantages of the Z06?

thanks all.

Z06 is better in many ways.

trans, engine and suspension are all better.

a little research goes a long way.

speedster_16@hotmail.com

im planing on doing alot of researsh before i buy this one unlike my current camaro, i thought it would be a good starting point to build and mod out. but to change to an LS motor would cost way more than just buying a car with an LS motor. i want big cubes for sure like a 402CI maybe a 427 if i have the money for a new block.

plus swaping to a 12 bolt, then shocks and springs a new torque arm set up and other bracket stuff... its rediculous ide be redesigning the car. im looking for a car that i can build the motor beef up the trans and drivetrain with stock locations and bolt up a procharger with minimal effort.
