08. Press 1 then # (pound). Youll hear Invalid Code, try

I used the excellent tutorial on how to unlock the radio before I’m sure, but this weekend after the car was re-sprayed (courtesy of some building workers who poured liquid cement all over it from 5 floors).. the LOC code needed clearing.
I reprinted the procedure when I dialed the 1-800 number and put in the 139010 code to proceed to the 'enter your cassette deck generated code' the '139 number wouldn’t work, voicemail kept saying 'invalid code try again'.
(Tried 3 times and gave up.)
Today on a whim, I entered 139101 and it worked.

If you don't have the code, call your dealer and they can get one for you. You can also turn this feature (TheftLock) off/on too.
I had this happen on my GM company car when they replaced the battery. I never set a code and they were stumped about what to do until a young guy working there came up and said "Use the last digits of the VIN." It WORKED ! That is the code GM uses until you set a different one. Try it before you go any further

I’ve got a 2001 with a radio security unlock problem. I disconnected the battery for a maintenance job and after reconnecting it, my radio displayed LOC. Tried to unlock the radio using a code that I established a while ago but it wouldn't unlock when I pressed the AM-FM button after entering the code. Tried to unlock the radio using the procedure in the Tech Tips section but I couldn't get further than step 2. When I held the Radio Presets 2 and 3 for six seconds, I didn't get a three digit number it stayed on LOC. Is there a different procedure for newer radios? Any other advice on how to unlock it short of taking it to the dealer?
Fixed my own problem! As it turned out, the radio was in the INOP mode, one level below the LOC mode, even though the display read LOC. Once I left the ignition key on for one hour to toggle the INOP mode off, the procedure as found in the Tech Tips, worked!
Might want to give it a try and see if any of these will work for you. I have not tried any of these procedures but am just merely passing on info that was posted by other forum members. Otherwise, maybe a trip to the dealer is in order.
