Default door sill

acquired a 50th A/E from my late father in law, passed away w/ MS; he loved his car, and began having trouble lifting his legs out of the car. He caused some black scuff marks on the door sill; can anyone let me know the best way to remove the marks or what to use without damaging anything such as possible color discoloration, etc? Thanks

Sorry to hear about your Father in law. The scuff marks should be easily removed with car wax. I get scuff marks occasionally on mine and they come right out with the wax. Good luck bro!

try buffing them out with a good orbital, porter cable, griot's garage. I have gotten light scratches out this way and may work on the scuff. It has variable speeds so won't hurt paint.

thank you very much, goin to Atlantic City Show in April and have to get this ready, have you ever trailered your car before? Purchased new enclosed trailer, located the four tie down points, but am concerned with the magnetic ride suspension.

I've heard that Mr Clean Eraser works pretty well for that.

Some car wax and a cloth should take the marks off very easily.

Not really recommended for the inexperienced especially if they're only scuffs.

Another vote for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Sorry to hear about your father in law, nice guy. I'm expecting a lint ball and some unpaid bills.

And if this won't cut it, use a WD-40 Or little Mineral spirits on a well worn kitchen scuff pads on the scuff marks. Don't rub too hard. I have used WD-40 on the outside when I ran over a freshly painted street lines, (Don't ask how long it took, but either these Adoggy Phizzle has suggested. I took my Vette to a really screwed up dealership close to me and they got dirty grease marks on the carpet and I went through 2 cans of carpet cleaner just to get that "shale" color. FWIT: I now line the entire drivers side foot-wells with old newspaper when ever i have and service done no matter where I take it. Better too much protection than have to little and some marks from a technicians boots.
