Anyone have one of these installed and have any comments? I have an opportunity to buy a new one for $1800 shipped. It looks really nice for a low ceiling lift for my C5 and is portable so you can move it out of the way when not in use.
I saw a thread on here a while back and they looked real nice. The only thing to look out for is the foundation of your garage. The cement needs to be a certain depth and psi. IIRC one member cut out and re-filled the area where it was going to be mounted. All the floor requirements should be on their website
Well I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought the MaxJax lift. Now will just need to save up to re-do part of the floor in my garage to handle it. I have been looking at these for a while now and this is the cheapest I have seen them so far by about $200, so just couldn't help it and had to do it.

I am looking at the Max Jax also. I am also considering a scissor jack. Not sure yet, been looking at them for a little while now.
I've heard good things about the MaxJax and also know a local friend who has a scissor lift and loves it. I just got a Challenger full-height VS-10 2-post lift installed and will post up details soon as a separate thread in case it helps anyone.

You don't NEED to replace part of your floor. A couple years ago I installed a Mohawk lift http://www.mohawklifts.com/wp/consum...lifts/system1/. As long as your concrete is ~4" thick and 3500 PSI you are good to go. The poster here that redid his didn't look to be any more than about 3" and maybe wasn't 3500 PSI. Most garage floors should meet that spec though. Your not loosing anything but time to try a bolt in each location before spending big bucks on a redo. Just drill a hole and you will be able to measure the thickness. Mine was 3 3/4" - 4 1/4" and the installer sssaid it would be fine...and he has been right so far!
looks pretty neat, but, I don't like 5/8 bolts and fact it screws in/out of floor for storage, constant undoing of bolts opens up problems as a possibility in my opinion. As stated USA steel only even though china stuff rapidly improving and soon will surpass USA unfortunately like japan did with cars in the 80s and up

You are correct my friend, I looked at the thread from the garage journal and his was about 4" thick and it did just fine. hopefully I will get it and have it installed in the next couple of months. I have a set of headers that I am waiting to put on and my sons car needs some work done to it also. I am really looking forward to getting it, just like a kid with a new toy.....
