Default ? Wheel spacer

OK, alright this peobobly is in here. i don't do well in the search engine. I'm buying a set of painted original C-6 wheels and tires 300 miles on them. Oh trust me real deal, this guy has bought a lot of cars from us here. Question is where do I get spacers from, and is it only rear wheel or front wheel as well. thank you sorry for getting long winded.

Don't the C6 bolt right up? I really don't know, now that you're asking this question. But, I really thought they were a bolt-on deal.

easy question for one who has done this mod before...all you need is 1/4" spacers in the rear only. You can buy cheap ones on Ebay, or just contact a couple wheel vendors here on the forum for guaranteed accurately made spacers. The 1/4" is the thickest you can go without having to install longer wheels studs...a real pain. Front wheels will be fine as the offset is the same for C5 and C6. Without spacers you will rub if your car is lowered.

Several people have had minor rubbing issues on the rear only. Especially if you are lowered or have an aggressive alignment. A 1/8" spacer should protect you from any issues. You can buy them from several vendors as well as from ebay.

Here's an example from a vendor...

I imagine they are how you decribed them as C6 wheels and not C6 Z wheels. The latter will need about a 2" spacer and the base Vette wheels will be 1/4-3/8" depending on how you want them to sit in the wheelwell.

Don't order from Pfadt, what you see on their website is not what they're sending out. They've changed the design to this:

I returned them.

I would say it's just cheaper to manufacture than what's shown on their website.

For whatever reason, they refuse to change the photo on their site.

It a depends on your wheels. Each wheel design is different. Some have a full face that mates with the rotor hat. When the wheel is designed and tested with a full mounting surface, that is what you should use for a spacer.

Hey guys, I am sorry to hear that you do not comprehend how wheel spacers work. The design of this wheel spacer specifically has been optimized to reduce mass that does not provide any function. You were expecting something that had more mass on the outside, and what you received was a set of spacers that is lighter and follows the common footprint of most wheels that Corvette owners have installed (as tstar suggested). I believe you were expecting more of a lowest-common-denominator wheel spacer that can be found at Pep Boys, which gives useless material, farther out from the hub center. This design does not meet that criteria.

If you needed us to explain the engineering to you, we would have been MORE than happy to do so. We do not expect all of our customers to understand why parts have certain design features. It is your mistake to fault us for giving you a superior product. We are constantly improving on the design of our products, and unfortunately you were more interested in what the spacer looked like, rather than how it functions.

We do not make wheel spacers that are for "show" which is apparently what you wanted to purchase. There is no reason whatsoever why you should have returned them, but we let you return them anyway. I suggest in the future when making a more substantial purchase than a set of $50 wheel spacers, you check the facts thoroughly before blasting a company that has always provided the most optimized suspension designs for C5/C6 Corvette owners.

Actually, I was expecting to receive what you have advertised on your website.

If you no longer sell that style, change the damn photos!!!!

If you can't be trusted with a $50.00 purchase, how can you be trusted with "a more substantial purchase"????

"The Facts" are that you're doing, for lack of a better phrase, a bait and switch!

Why wouldn't pfadt just accurately represent what they are selling?

I've asked them that question several times... interesting that they blame me for not knowing what's good for me!
