I like them. Dresses the car up from being so plain. If it's LED's you're after, do both.. then watch out for tailgaters as they try to check out your ride.

In your case it would depend on about how happy the little gal would be. If she really, really wants them... I would cave... just to make her happy. If it's no big deal you're good to go louverless.

I think the tail light chrome pieces are completely atrocious lol. Blacked out or stock is the only options that I see looking the best.
