As much as I hate to say it, He must know something...
I will agree that winning 5 titles in a row is something, but to compare him to Petty and Earnhardt is wrong. Different eras different style and the rules that have been so totally screwed up my the powers to be have changed that form of auto racing forever. I once was a NASCAR fan, but I could care less about it now. So Jimmy Johnson will be in their Hall-of-Fame, but not in the same company as the this two.

I also bet the Corvette Racing crew had the same pucker factor as they watched their car get closer and closer to the tire barriers.
Saying a NASCAR driver is a race car driver is the same as calling a professional golfer an athlete. Oh sure, they both have talents, but in their own field. Don't go lumping them in with people who are way more talented.
I guess since nobody has said it, I'll chime in. Johnson has been road racing for years, on a professional level, driving a Daytona prototype in the D24. I'm sure he can hold his own with anyone on this forum.

99.999% of us would never sniff his exhaust fumes!
