You might also look into FedEx ground - I shipped a C5 hood to Chicago a couple of years back and as a first time shipper, they gave me a heck of a discount - cost approximately $120 total for the shipment.
Oh, I also forgot www.uship.com. You state what you want shipped and shippers will bid on it. I have shipped vehicles this way. Sometimes you can get a heck of a deal.
Greyhound (bus) used to ship pretty cheap if there is a way for you to do that.
I've had a front and rear bumper both shipped to me with Greyhound very recently. Front from New Jersey to Arizona was 88.00. Rear from Oklahoma to Arizona was 75.00
And yes you can only ship to a city that has a Greyhound bus terminal. If you go on their website, you can do a search to see if there is one near you.
Greyhound. Around $200 delivered in 2 days. But you need to find a big box for the bumper and the buyer needs to pick it up from the bus terminal.

It may not be this high...6 months ago it was around 1-2 dollars per pound as long as it fit in one of the single compartments under the bus in the box. I received a fender and we shipped in across state lines for about 50 dollars.

Yeah, your right. It was a while ago. I used the box from my new "Sic" industries Z06 bumper to ship it.
There are size restrictions so be careful with the size of the box.
