LG and Pfadt have been taking up the market for the past few years with their kits and QA1 is now the new kid on the block. Once these kits start making their way onto cars and folks can give some solid feedback then we'll get a collective feeling of how they perform.

LG and Pfadt are the gold standard we compare to since they've been out there for sometime and are now tried and true. I wouldn't count out QA1 as solid option for anyone looking to go with coilovers and as nice benefit they have a great remote adjustment system that will compliment this kit coming out in the next couple months (no more having to jack up the car and take wheels off or cutting holes in your trunk to adjust the dampening of the shocks ).

In the end I think it's great there is another kit out there that we can all bicker back and forth about on how much better it is or how bad it is depending on which side of the fence your on. Only time will tell where this kit falls in at and it takes some folks venturing out there purchasing it and giving their feedback to the rest of us.

Well I found a guy how has the newest QA1s for C5s and he paid $1700 for them. He crashed his z06 before putting them on his car. He is letting me have them for $800. Before I spent the money I wanted to hear peoples feedback on the brand. My Z06 is already pretty modified and I am putting down 455 RWHP. I just want to get the power down at the track. So I think it is a wise investment.

Good deal...I wouldn't pass up on that. You can find them new for $1200, so you're getting them for 2/3 the price of new...can't beat that.

Hey Deetee, you were a big contributor to that thread I posted a link to. Got any updates for us on the feel/quality of the QA1's?
Still going strong?
Any leaks, creaks, or squeaks?

so far so good, no problem on quality and the feel also improved from standard leaf spring setup.
no leaks, no creaks, and no squeaks

I use the DRM coilovers on both my C5 & C4 . Since I have been dealing with DRM I've never had more fun & reliability out of my cars .

When I bought my 2004 Z it was slammed on stock bolts and road like Sh*t, about 1" of travel on the rear wheels before it would bottom out. I liked the look but on the freeway it would sometimes bottom out and the rear end would bounce around - NOT SAFE So I installed PFADT coilovers - corners like a spyder with a GREAT ride.

And now I have TRUE independent suspension !

Same way I felt when I installed my LG GT2 coilovers... And some people say they are not worth it for the street.... I think they need to go for a cruise in our cars..

I honestly dont understand where people say they arent ment for the street. I havent even really played with the softness or stiffness on the coils. I set them once and thats it and got the car re aligned. As you can see my car is sitting pretty low. I have to put wood to get into my garage so i wont scrap lol.

OK, Toque, you need to come up here to Nor Cal and let me drive/ride in your car.....lol.

i am so close to pulling the trigger on some C/O's, but can't decide if the extra $100 or so (for the LG GT2's) is worth it or not (Pfadt).

i like the remote adjustability (at least rear) of the LG's, but i have heard that the spherical rod end joints tend to be noisier than the Pfadt's delrin/cup setup. and with my car being strictly "street", i don't think i would need to adjust much after all is setup and aligned.

i am going with my indecisiveness and am sure i'd be happy with either setup.

all that said, tho, i do know that in the not-so-distant future, i will be "truly independent".....

peace,

rich

Rich:

Decisions... decisions... .
My car is strictly street only as well. Hell I only drove it a little over 2000 miles this year. Work has been nuts..... It pays for my weekend hobby though so I can't complain...

Rich,

We've installed at least 10 sets of LG coilovers the last year and we're in Campbell (Near San Jose) I'm sure I can arrange for a test ride for you. In fact, during the 1st week of January we have 2 Vettes coming in for LG Coilover installations

If you think a Vette on coilovers is nice you'll be real happy to ride in one that we corner weight and align

hey, mike,

yeah, we talked on the phone awhile ago about this topic and i appreciate (and didn't forget) the time you spent answering my questions. i was really hoping to get down to your toy drive/open house but it didn't work out.

and it doesn't help that you offer both systems.....lol.

i hope to get down to campbell soon and drop off my car . just need to get thru xmas and count my pennies.....

take care,

rich
