Yep, seems like LG or Pfadt are the main corvette suppliers.

This question is sort of like whats the better supercharger.
You will get 100 people saying go with what they used because they feel it was the best choice but at the end of the day there right all choices were good Vortech, Paxton, and procharger all great.
Coils same thing he said Lg, other guy Pfadt, one mentioned Penske.
I installed Pfadt myself. My decision was based on a vendor that has worked on my previous mods and trusted his decision as well as hearing others agree on the product itself. At the time Pfadt had vendors doing packages and group purchases and that sealed the deal.
Pfadt support was great, I called twice during the install and talked to Jordan great service and help.
So that was my great experiance with them, but I'm sure its very much the same with LG and others. Good luck

I went with LG GT2's.
I'm one heck of a happy camper with how my Z06 rides now...

The first question is why? Or better put, what do you intend to accomplish by changing your springs and shock? Do you run track days or use the car in competition? Do you need to change spring rates for a different track or are you just looking for coilovers because you have been told that they are the "ultimate" for making your car handle. Are you looking for better lap times or do you want more grip and better cornering power? Do you want a better ride, or are you willing to put up with a more harsh ride in trade for better handling.

Do you have any suspension mods on your Z?

What you change to and where you go are all different depending on where you are starting from and what you are looking for. Describe what you want in handling, where you are starting from and then we can probably recommend what would be a good plan.

Don't have the reference, but LG (I believe, it *may have been DRM though) said themselves that they didn't believe coilovers were a worth while upgrade for a street car. It was posted in a rather lengthy thread regarding the different brands. I'm sure it won't be hard to find in a search.

My Z06 is used all around. I take it to the track and run quarters miles. I drive it on the highways in west texas. I drive it around town when the weather is nice. I am an aggressive driver who wants better feel in high speed performance. I have been looking into these new QA1 for C5 and C6 models GR402-09450 and GS403-07450. Anyone out there know anything about them?

QA1's are mostly a drag shock. They are not really designed for handling, and won't improve your feel or performance for driving the car anywhere but at the strip. QA1's adjust both bump and rebound at the same time, so they mess up one when you need to adjust the other. If you want a drag shock, go for it, but if you are looking for handling they aren't the right choice.

For what you are doing a set of 04 Z06 shocks or the Bilstein sports are a good choice. If you want the ability to handle well and have some adjustment, the Koni Sports are a good choice.

Notice that none of these are coil overs. You already have pretty stiff springs in a stock Z and for the street you really don't need to change them to make the car handle well. Stiffer springs, like you get with some coilovers, are really inteneded to perform well on the road course and not on the street.

If the car isn't used for road course or autocross duty, coilovers are pretty much a waste of money. Spend your bucks on a good set of performance shocks and align the car with a competition alignment and that will really wake it up. With a set of adjustable Koni's you can set it to be stiff enough to shake your fillings out, and that's plenty for the street.

Yeah I remember reading that post.. but that being said... why mod these cars (Z06's) at all.. They make what..360-380 at the rear wheel stock... a well designed tuned suspension that they made comprimise's for to get it to the masses...

I know that I'll never even come close to the limits of the car's handleing... But.. I do believe that swapping out to a coil over suspension will make the car handle "better" (subjective I know)

I know that a coilover IRS is better than the leaf when especially when we're looking at lowering the car on the bolts.. I know my ride is harsher now that it will be with the Coil's

And the most important thing... I got another "dodad" for may car

I was following THIS thread a while back about the QA1 coil-overs. The price was really appealing, but I wasn't sure about the quality of the product. Not to say I've heard anything BAD, but these also don't have the same kind of enthusiastic feedback the phadts or LG's get.

I am also of the school of thought that coil-overs are unnecessary for a street car........ but I still want them. I seem to want only the best for this car. I've spent (part for part) almost as much as I did on my old 911, and the aftermarket mark-up on the parts for that car as asinine.

I am personally leaning more towards a set of LG's because of a) their reputation, and b) the quality of my headers was fantastic, so I know they make a good product. This will have to wait until after my transmission rebuild/ new clutch project though..... unless there's a silly deal out there

You sir... have caught the MOD bug... seek attention and more parts quickly before you really go over the edge and buy a Super charger!
