Default Question for LG Headers users

LG headers have primaries that are insanely long which give you incredible torque, but i also noticed something else after I had mine installed:

We all know LT headers can take advantage of “gas scavenging” (which is nothing more than a fancy way of saying that pressure waves from each cylinder can take advantage of Bernoulli’s principle and create a low-pressure area in their wake that pulls the next wave with it generating tremendous torque.

Most LG headers have a “sweet spot” in the power band where the exhaust pulses are timed just perfect to complement each other. This spot can usually be identified by a change in exhaust sound. My Old SSAC headers did this around 3000 RPM.

The LG Super pros I just had installed seem to have two sweet spots. (one around 2200 and the other around 4500 RPM) I think this is because the primaries are so long that they can support either one exhaust pulse (at low RPM) or two pulses per primary (at high RPM) resulting in two distinct frequencies at which the pulses reach harmonic equilibrium.

Whatever the reason, it's really cool!!!

Any other LG users notice this?

I thought it was just my wife that had a sweet spot...

I do however notice that at a certain RPM's my LG PRO's sound insane at higher PRM's... That's a good thing...

Want to see (or better hear) something really cool is pair them with a change of cam, and it changes yet again and sounds completely different inside the car.

as a sound guy, the ~2200rpm & ~4500rpm makes sense. they're about an octave (doubling or halving of the frequency) apart.

Take a look at my dyno sheet in my sig and you can see what that sound change looks like on paper.

Once i get the car clean, I plan to do a video showing the sound of both the exhaust and blower with my Laptop running an occioloscope program so you can see the sound frequency and magnitude in the video. Stay tuned.
