Finally got my HIDs working. Big difference from the stock OEMs.
This is the only "mod" that has been done to the car. Didn't drive much at night because of the poor lighting of the stock, always used my suv. This is, IMO, probably one of the best things you can do. I was going to put new seat covers on but since my originals were perfect, dicided to go with the HIDs instead. Glad that I did. If you're thinking about doing any mods, I highly recommed this.
I believe they are Depos. My brother sent these to me. I believe he got them at a show in Fl. He was going to put them on his C5 but got a C6 and sent them to me. I think they are the same ones JW Motorsports sell, but not sure. I don't have the shrouds on yet as I may have to adjust them later. Can't believe the difference from the stock.
This was the best mod I've done as I can now see at night and don't feel I'm outrunning my headlights.
Add the HID fogs and you will never need your halogen brites again. I got my set as well as the corner LED and rear Halo LEDs from JW Motoring - Forum Vendor.

Yes you can buy HID highs. I do not suggest them since HIDS take 5-8 seconds to fully warm. If you need your highs fast you won't have them. If you do a lot of back road driving and are just looking to put out a lot of light they're nice.

Agreed. Add the fogs and you will never use the highs. I only use my highs (halogen) to flash to pass.
Toque - best way to aim the lights is to project onto a flat surface/wall between 20-30 feet away. I was really lucky because we have this art-deco type office park near me that had red horizontal lines on one of the buildings and it made a perfect reference point for me to aim the cut-offs on the beams. I'm just glad no cop or security came around when I was adjusting my lights as it was around 10PM. You can also use your garage door if you driveway is flat and not too angled or pitched.

Friend of mine owns a garage and he has the headlight aiming whatchamacallits. Without that, toque is right.

How would the HID fogs be for driving around in the city at night without the headlights? Is that legal? I really dislike putting up the "speed brake" headlights. I love the C5 lines except for when those headlights come up
As a retired LEO (many years ago), it was illegal. You had to have headlights on. Of course, as I said...many years ago. I would check the state you live in. Remember, all states have different laws, what's good in one, may be bad in another.
One thing I have to get is hyperflash harness. Mine not real fast but a little, which actually isn't bad. Will get that from JW probably after the holidays. JW is a highly respected vendor on the forum and would get the HID fogs also if he carried them.
MSG C5....where did you get your fogs?

I usually drive with my fogs ("fogs" is a really bad description) during dusk and when I'm driving around where there are street lights. I can see fine, however the cut off is lower due to their location. I turn on the HID lows/pop-ups when I'm on remote roads, expressway, etc.
I know the pop-ups act as speed brakes, however safety is more of my concern on the expressway, etc. I drive I75 between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on a regular basis and the HID really help me spot the "deer eyes" way off in the distance compared to my OEM yellow-tint halogens.

We have both.
Did you switch to LED DRLS (or tails)? You won't need a harness for swapping to projectors.

I agree. I suggest checking local laws as well and when it gets dark, I usually turn on my pop ups. The irony is that my fogs are now brighter and clearer than most OEM headlights. However, when I decided to mod all of my exterior lights (both HID and LED), I worked with Jonathan and made sure I kept everything DOT approved with no tint and/or incorrect (illegal) colors.
