Went out to the parking garage to leave work this afternoon and my 2001 Coupe w/auto trans will not turn over, no starter function at all, no clicks, no nothing. Battery appears to fine (8 months old), lights, locks, DIC, etc. are working. Steering column is not locked (normally the wheel locks when shut off), able to move trans between gears with foot on brake and key switched on. DIC displays: Reduced Power message and Service Soon message. Bought the car used and don't know if any recall work has been done and not aware if a CLB was ever installed. Car was running fine this morning and had just been detailed (exterior only) and returned to it's parking space by our in-house detail guy (who said it was running fine) about a half hour before I tried to start it. Searched the numerous column lock threads and while my situation has some of symptoms of the problem, I thought under reduced power, the car should at least start and run up to 2 mph. I've driven this car daily for nearly six years and 60000 miles and this is the first time it's left me stranded, so I'm looking for your opinions before I have it towed. Thanks.
