I talked with several dealers about this problem 5 yrs ago---all told me that less than 5% of the vettes they sold--came in for the bypass--dont worry about it--likely will never happen--enjoy your new ride and keep the miles low--
I have a CLB installed in my 02 6 speed. I had the dealer recall which I guess was reprograming since no additional wiring was present when I installed the CLB.
If I have a low battery and am restricted in speed to 2 mph is there something I can do to get home or continue driving the car... pull a fuse and put back etc. etc.
I don't want to spend the bucks to reprogram out the speed control unless I just have to.

Even of the dealer is right in his #s That's still over 12000 Vettes with problems. Take out the later A4s and you chances statistically go up.
#1 You actually believe a dealer?
#2 "don't worry about it" is very bad advice.
Hello!!!!!!!! If you read the entire thread ( I did) carefully you will see that the poster I responded to is NOT the OP and the poster I quoted and responded to does NOT say a thing in his post that would indicate anything that lends a hint as to what type of C5 or transmission is in HIS car nor does hi profile offer any info..
I'm out of here before the nail scratching and hair pulling starts!

Hey guys... 8vette7 is a great stand up guy and knows his stuff! He has helped me through a tremendous amount of issues with my 98.. Lets all cool off..
