I looked up one of these car buying sites and met up with an appraiser today because I really need to sell my car before Christmas and he offered 10K for my car. The headliner is sagging and the tread on the tires are fair. its a 99 frc with 79k miles and no mechanical problems with a clean title. Do you think its worth taking this offer? I have some debt to pay off and I really don't know what to do. School tuition and credit card bills... ehhh!
I know these companies try to low ball for their benefit but I'm really stuck right now. I bought the car for 18K 4 years ago and to see it at 10k brings tears to my eyes!!!

I would say $12,500-$13,000 with no issues aside from the headliner. But if you need to sell quickly then try to get at least $11K. Or you can offer it here for $11,900 and see what happens.
i don't know if these appraisers consider the aftermarket wheels and exhaust. I even put a new optima battery in it. So yes you think its a good deal?
Mods don't increase value. In fact, they can make the car more difficult to sell because they have to look for the buyer that not only wants a Corvette but also likes your mods. If you can put the stock parts back on and get the same price you may be better off, but unless your aftermarket exhaust is an STS turbo system I'd say you're getting a good deal.

they don't consider anything but the worn tires and any other defects.
it is probably worth $12000 to $14000 as it sits.
like i said, getting someone to pay that during the holidays, in a hurry, in san diego where 100s of vettes are for sale, in this economy, with the gas prices so high in california and elsewhere will not be easy.
what is premium going for there, $3.80 or so? and rising.

thank you so much guys. I've been here since 04 when i got my first vette now its really sad that I'm no longer going to be a vette owner. My parents keep telling me when I graduate med school I'll be able to afford whatever I want lol. I hope they're right because right now books and tuition/ loans aren't really looking good right now. Hopefully one day I can be back on the forum with a similar vette that I currently have to give up. I would love to sell it for 11,900. but debt doesn't wait and I don't want to ruin my credit. I love the corvette family, From the CLB to tech tips I always found answers here. sorry for being a sob but I love the support from this forum.
yeah haha $3.80 and it loves to drink LOL! it kills my commute to school but I have to say. Having this car was worth every penny and the years I've spent with it.

I would say that 10 is a fair price seeing he would be buying the car to make a few bucks, That is what they do, There is no way they could offer you more and put new tires and fix a few things and make some cash on the deal, I know how you feel and do think 10 is a fair price, I am sure you could get more from a private buyer, But you have a few issues with that. Christmas is not the time to sell a car, Money is tight.

Don't just post dumb questions, but you may find some answers if you use the search function.
People are pretty mean there to dumb questions and will not help you unless you are specific and have searched for similar items.
When you are done with college, you might love the forum even more.
Classes and study session along with volunteer clinic hours for credit doesn't allow me to have any time for a part time job. I wish. Right now this is the only asset I have that can help me. I have to find a cheap car after that to get me around

Your in a tight spot especially at the holidays and that makes for few options. Considering all this it seems like the $10,000 is not the worst way to go. Best of luck on the sale.
