Not a fan of dark wheels. There are a few exceptions I have seen, but in general not a fan.

I agree with a bit of flash with that color, Black doesn't do it in my opinion.

Tint, flared quarters, and stock wheels coated in brake dust...err...I mean painted black. I vote for shiny wheels. The "concept" you have is pretty popular.
Congrats on the Z, though. Hard to beat an EB C5Z06!

I like the rear flares but now you have to fill that gap with an 11.5 or 12 wheel. 315's-345's are the reason for doing that mod. Maybe gloss or satin black might make those wheels pop. It looks like you got bit by the mod bug so my guess is your not done yet.

I like the black wheels. My guess is that the people who don't like black wheels also wear big gold chains around neck and have earrings !

Back up few feet more and those black wheels will just look like your hub caps fell off. Like my neighbors mini van.

Looks great so far. Would love to see the finished front fenders as you have a cool concept there. Flares look good too. Good luck!

I think a high gloss black would look better but the flat isn't bad .

Way to overgeneralize! (Fail) Sorry, I don't live in a world of absolutes. I like black trim, however to me black wheels look like wheels with brake dust never cleaned off. I agree that they also disappear from over 10 feet away. I saw a Millenium Yellow Vette with black wheels and it looked like it had two big wheel wells.
I'm not crazy about chrome bling either, however a nice polished wheel would be my first choice.
I also think the Leman's Blue is one of the colors that can pull off the darker wheel look and IMO works better with a gunmetal gray vs. black. Below is one of my favorites on the forum...
