C5 Convertible Head Light door cover adjustment
I have a 2002 C5 and the head light door on the driver side is not flush with the hood and front bumper cover. How can I adjust it to match the adjoining body parts?
Ps:
My C5 hasn't been in any wrecks.
Thanks for the help.

Manually raise the lights. Remove the black surround plastic. Remove the four screws holding on the top plate. Under the top plate there are " adjustable standoffs" that the top plate rests on. These can be adjusted so that the top plate will align with the rest of the hood.
Hope that helps,

You can adjust the painted cover by loosening the torx screws at the front of the cover. When you loosen those screws you have a little room to adjust it up or down. I had the same issue with mine, I removed the black shrowd then loosened the torx screw that held the painted cover at the side that had to come down (or up), I slightly adjusted the painted cover and re tightened the torx screw, lowered the buckets and all was good. It all depends on how much out of whack it is to begin with, if it's just a minor mis-alignment then this should do the trick. Good luck bro.

Nothing to add except it can be a PITA because you need to close the hood afterwards to make sure everything is lined up. I suggest you keep the black light bezel off until it looks the way you want. It might take a few tweaks...

Good advice.
You can adjust the headlight cover in two directions. One adjustment allows you to set the “up and down” position to get the cover to sit flush with the hood and the fender. Another adjustment allows you to position the cover within its housing and set an equal gap around the cover when it’s stowed.
To make it sit square in its housing you adjust the position and tightness of the torx screws which hold it on. There are two torx screws at the rear of the cover and one on each side.
Lift the hood and remove the two at the rear
Turn on the headlights and then back off to the parking lights position to kill the headlights.
Remove the torx screws at each side
Take off the cover
You’ll see four white screws at each corner of the headlight cradle. By rotating these you can rasie or lower the position of the cover at each corner. Unfortunately this adjustment is trial and error.
Replace the headlight cover and fit the two torx screws on each side. Lower the headlights and see how the cover sits in its stowed position. If it’s square and central refit the rear torx screws and tighten. If not you can open the lights again and ease off the torx screws to adjust the fore and aft position. Again this is trial and error.
The torx screws fit into clips on the housing. Make sure you don’t knock them off as you remove the screws.
