At least you won't have mice in your car! I've had a couple of cars ravaged by mice when storing them in my father's barn until he got a couple of barn cats. Of course, now I don't store any cars there after the mice incidents.
I never was a cat guy. That is until I owned my own home in the country. Old farm houses and mice go hand in hand. How they get in I can't figure out, but they get in. It is very disturbing hearing things in your walls in the middle of the night. Then a stray kitten showed up on my doorstep one night. We rescued her and she keeps the place mice free. She guards the place like a lion. I love it. This year there hasn't been a single mouse incident. She kills them outside before they get into the house and leaves them on the sidewalk for us to see. She takes care of mice, moles, chipmunks, etc. Nothing getting near the homestead with her here. She doesn't ever jump on the cars either. The only thing she ever does is go under them. I am now a cat lover.
Careful mixing dogs and cats. We had a young German Shepard that loved chasing cats, and cats that loved hanging out on top of cars. Doggy could never make it onto the cars like the cats, but he sure tried a lot.
When I bought my C3 in Maryland, the guy I bought it from had 3 Vettes. The one I went to look at had side exhaust and there were sneakers in the pipes. Of course I had to ask WHY THE SNEAKERS. He said his cats would climb in the pipes and when he started the car the would fly out the pipes. He also said they likes to sleep in the engine bay, he opened the hood and there was a cat on one of the control arms.
I didn't buy that car but he had a 69' vert that I did buy from him, as I drove away he said "I hope you don't have any of my cats". I had looked under the hood before I left and there were no cats so I merrily drove home.
When I got home I left the car in the driveway so I could work on a friends car. As we were working, the kid nextdoor said there was a CAT under my car. The car rode the 40 miles back with me in the SPARE TIRE CARRIER between the mufflers in back. I called the guys and the 1st thing he said was "You have one of my cats don't you"-he drove out and picked it up.
Guess cats just like Corvettes-hard to fault them for it!!
If you're old enough to have a Vette then your old enough to live on your own! It's your parents house so if I were them I'd put you out to make more room for the cat!
I like cats, Dave
Seriously, my sons had a cat and it constantly left paw prints on another son's Z28. The Z28 son loaded the cat up for a one way ride and in a final act of revenge, the cat peed all over his upholstery.
Cats do not belong in garages. They own the house and they should live in it. Corvettes belong in garages. Corvettes should not be parked overnight in the street. Cats will sleep and walk on them. Children who own Corvettes and live at home should not whine when their parents cats pee on the Corvette cover. They should find a place of their own to live in with a garage for the Vette. Without cats in it.
