Sometimes on certain roads, the suspension feels weird, kinda like if you are on a road and they are doing construction and have one side of the asphalt leveled higher than the other side and you change lanes to the higher level at a decent amount of speed.

Kinda like a side to side feeling, it's subtle, maybe it's just the rear suspension doing it, or a weird road.

Usually feel it driving one certain road going about 45 mph.

I never felt this in the car until moving to this town a few years ago.

Does anyone else ever feel this?

Get a quality 4-wheel alignment.

I get this feeling a lot too, not sure if its an alignment issue or just the ****ting roads out here but i sometimes feel the car going side to side slightly as i'm driving.

I believe I've heard that worn tie-rod end links will cause this too, especially on rutted roads.

I should explain when I do feel it, it's just for a instant.

Could this be something with the rocking seat people talk about?

Not to change the subject, (this may be a clue) but recently when I come to a stop, the seat now slides forward a bit, and then slides back when I take off.

It used to do this, but the movement was a LOT less than what it is doing now.

Anyways, back to the funny feeling.

The funny feeling is not in the steering (I don't think) but a seat of the pants feel.

Kinda jiggly like jello, it's so faint and only happens once or twice each time I drive it for a split second, it's really hard to tell what it is.

In my mind it "feels" as if the whole rear suspension and wheels are shifting back and forth from one side of the car to the other.

What do you guys think about it being the seat making it feel like the rear end (of the car) subtly swaying back and forth for just a instant?

It's a 1999 with just a tad over 74K miles.

Very well could be. Lots of threads have been posted on that topic. A search should bring up a few. If you can't find any though, I have a few Word files that talk about it. If you'd like a copy, PM me your e-mail address.

I think everyone is feeling the effects of what happens when the wide tires of a corvette drives over grooves in a poorly built road (grooves made by other cars over time) frequntly seen at busy intersections. I've noticed that on a very flat road my car will drivce very straight and stop very straight, but if a road has those worn out grooves, the wide, stiff tires will always try to pull out of the grooves creating the side-to-side motion.
In a similar case, where a road has a slant to it my suspension will always pull the car uphill as if the alignment was off.

Atleast I hope this isn't just me.

Do a google search for tramlining. This will get you started:

C4 Corvettes are much worse, especially when the tire tread gets down close to 60%

I'm guessing it's the wear pattern in the road surface. Like a previous thread states the Vettes have the wide tires & don't run in the same areas. Try finding a new road surface & see if you get the same action.
