Hello All,
So for us regular guys that can't afford floor lifts in our garages yet, I need some advice from you on lifting my Z and supporting it with jack stands. The Owner's manual shows me where to lift it - which is dang near impossible on the front, but I finally did get it in the air. Have any of you successfully used other spots to lift and support it, or do I get to monkey it with two jacks every time I want to get all 4 wheels off the ground?
You can make a set of ramps and use wood to lift your Z06 for under $20. You also need a floor jack and 4 jack stands. I have mine jacked up now and lift it all the time using this system---cheap & simple. See this website: www.Z06vette.com/diy_lift.php
As my Z06 is lowered, I drive onto 2x10's front and back. Use two jacks to raise the front and the rear. Takes a little time, but it's the only way I have to raise the car. Have the frame savers on each side that have the jacking pads on them.

I use almost the same system as wallifishrmn. Made 4 short ramps w/2x12's--front 2 are slightly longer than the back--They each are stacked--shorter pieces on top......If you like will measure pieces tomorrow...heavy as heck but, they work to easily get the jack w/2x6's under the cross members..
I use my harbor freight motorcycle lift to raise the rear and then use my regular floor jack with a bunch of rags to lift the sides of the car right before the rear wheels.
I got Race Ramps to raise the front of my lowered Z, and a low-profile Harbor Freight jack raises the rear under the cross-member. I also have rocker rails so when I just need to lift a corner (cleaning wheels, etc.), I simply jack right under the rocker rail. Race Ramps are a bit expensive, but worth every penny!
If you use ramps, (and I do), go to Target and buy 2 cheap door mats. They are probably about 20" x 30". Put the mats half under the ramps and the other half sticking out so when you drive over the mats and onto the ramps the ramps bit into the mats and it keeps them from sliding. works great. With that being said now I just use a lifting lug and my floor jack and just jack it up and then slid in the ramps. I also built 2" x 8" blocks that are about 2 feet long and about 6 board thick when I want to raise the complete car.

I use Race Ramps, and jack stands...
Get a couple low profile jacks too. You will need them ... trust me.
Harbor Frieght has some decent ones for $60 (see my 2x blue ones on the left of my pic).
Toque, that's a great picture. For all of the guys that aren't experienced with jacking a C5 that picture is a good guide. You have a gook looking garage. Looks like your Z is happy.

Thanks Paul !
It sure feels a LOT safer under there on ramps. I used to work under it with just jack stands. I always felt uneasy to say the least !
Don't forget the wheel chokes when being on a ramp... . Mine are Orange in the picture.
My garage is my favorite place to be on the weekends. Other than driving it of course...
if you want to jack from the frame on the sides MAKE SURE to get jacking pucks..and make sure your local chevy dealership knows about these pucks also or this will happen

That sucks, sorry to see that man. I remember seeing those holes on the bottom sides of the chassis, I assumed they were there for production purposes only. Is it GM that sells the pucks?
