There must be a reason for secreting that document ..... anyone know the reason?
"Secreting"??? Still do not understand why people think these are important in any way. The RPO codes in the glove box are much more usefule in knowing how the car was built.

The old build sheets (C3 vintage for instance) had good info and since there really was nothing else on the car showing how it left the factory, they were almost useful.

I think it's a waste of time and money, but thats up to anyone who needs to know everything. I kept the orignal sticker on my 04 and pass it off to the next owner if sell it. I made copies to take to our shows in New York for displays.
Long Island has many car shows.I am a member from Long Island Vettes.

Do these build sheets show what day your car was built on? Is there anyway to find out?

Hey Joe Babe: I'm trying to understand. You think it's a waste of time and money for us without original documents like you have to get original documents. YET YOU TAKE YOUR ORIGINALS TO ALL THE SHOWS IN NY! Why do you do that if it's a waste of time and money?

Catch me up here dude....

i can understand some not feeling the "need" to get this sheet from their frames. and i certainly wouldn't necessarily go thru the hassle of pulling off the front nosepiece for the sole purpose of retreiving this piece of history.

but having a Z06 that had been "converted" to a drop top (post-GM) and having some of the vette "purists" constantly challenging me on its authenticity, it is nice to have the extra documentation.

i was (unfortunately) able to get mine while it was at the body shop getting the repairs done after i hit a mt. bike that had been left in the middle of the road one night.

i, too, had ordered the replacement window sticker and the other original build sheet from the NCM. from what i was told, when the cars come down the line, there are actually two build sheets. one gets stuffed into the frame bar and the other is sent to and filed away at the museum. i was told that i could call them with my VIN and, if still on file, they would send it out (for the above mentioned fees...lol).

peace,

rich

I bought one for my C5 when I was at the NCM back in September. My window sticker is in perfect shape and I have all of the stickers and tags that came with the car, so I decided to get the build sheet.

Default Documentation of your cars unique options list

FREE INFORMATION!!!

For those of you that would like to find out exactly all the options your car came with, how many other Vettes
in the same year had the same options, and how rare your car ACTUALLY is......
here is a link to a website that you can enter your VIN # into, and it will give you the data of:
How many produced that year, how many had each specific option, and how many cars were built with EXACTLY
the same options as your car and how many were built with at least as many options.
I have run the VIN on my Vette, Firebird and Duramax and produced results on all 3.
Oh yeah, it also will give you your EXACT build date....COOL

The one thing I got from this search on my Vette is I found out it truly is a 1 of a kind.
Only 2000 C5 with EXACTLY the same option list which makes it a 1 of a kind C5 Corvettte. Nice!

Good Luck and have fun with it!

Here you can get a document detailing your year model and you will be able to figure out what time your vehicle was built.
