Default C5 Build Sheet

According to the info listed on SECRETS OF THE C5, the build sheet is located in the front re-bar.

Did a search for 'build sheet' & 're-bar' in the C5 section, but no luck.

Anyone familiar with the term 'rebar', and its' location?

Thanks,
don

The front frame rail is what they are referring to, you have to take the bumper off to get to it.

Why bother when you can order a clean unwrinkled version from the Corvette Museum - click here!

I thank you ....

There must be a reason, but if my sheet is still there, it will remain there.

Actually more. The RPO codes in the glove box are also more useful.

Do you have to order the build sheet to be able to order the window sticker from the NCM ?? I've heard both yes and no.

According to he NCM web site they only say that if you order a reproduction window sticker you must also order the build sheet. It appears that you can order the build sheet only.
If you are a member they are $30 and $40 for non-members plus $5 to have it laminated.
I ordered both laminated. I also have the original window sticker and I plan on getting the original bulid sheet out of the front bumper one of these days.

That's the way I read it too. I only want the Window Sticker, not the Build Sheet.

What kind of condition would the original build sheet be in if you retrieved it from the bumper? Anybody done this?

I just got off the phone with the NCM and they told me I must order both and could not order the window sticker alone. Go figure...

Bummer, that's $40 plus another $40 (non-member) for something I don't want.
I think I'll pass.
Thanks for checking, I was going to call them too.

I like having the build sheet and the window sticker. I got the lamenated ones. The original window sticker was folded up in the owners manual. There are some on this forum that have taken the build sheet out of the frame rail when they had the bumper off for repairs or painting. Most of the time they are in better shape than the ones that used to be placed over the gas tank like on the older vettes.

It's part of the frame - there is a hollow tube right behind the front fascia that goes width wise across the car. The build sheet should be stuffed inside that. At least that is where mine was. You will have to take the front fascia off to get to it.

Great photo..... the condition of that build sheet is far superior to the one I extricated from the frame rail in the engine compartment of my '93...... completely shredded.

There must be a reason for secreting that document ..... anyone know the reason?
