I was going to wait until I could get my own pictures but who knows when that will be. It's snowing again here and they're saying it will be for the next few days.

So I sold my 90 and picked up this FRC. It has 65K, 2 owners, and I found it 30 miles away after looking all across the country. The price was right and from what I can tell so far it's in great condition. Short throw shifter, brand I'm not sure of but I'm thinking it's a MGW. I'll learn more about it later. As most 99 FRC's it has limited options but that's fine with me, except I would like auto climate control which it doesn't have. Oh well. But he did put on a Mid America exhaust that sounds great and I also bought some Magnaflow mufflers from a CF member if the wife starts yelling to much about the sound. But they sound great.

According to carfax most all the required maint has been completed at a dealer, FWIW, to include the most recent owner. I went from 68K on my 90 to 65K on this but I wanted a FRC.

Pic from previous owner. I'll post mine when the weather allows for me to detail, clay bar, etc.

Out with the old

In with the new----er

The PO does some kind of fabrication for the state of Mo and he made the front license plate cover. Can't see it real well but it's smoked plexiglass with Corvette written in TR on the bottom side.

Oh yeah I wanted to show this. When I got new plates for my 90 this is what they gave me strictly by chance. I'm going to swap them out until they expire and then maybe get my SFC 97 plates I always intended on.

Karma maybe???

Kewl! Good pics.

Btw, be GLAD you do not have the CJ2 HVAC system. There have been a never-ending stream of posts over the years from people who have constant problems with it. This is definitely a case of simpler really is better, trust me.

Congratulations...welcome to the FRC fraternity of the C5 generation.

It looks great. I really like the Torch Red on the FRC, you can do a lot of wheel options for example & still looks good.

Hope the weather breaks for you.........

I looked at your FRC a bunch of times on the internet and it looked to be in great shape, it was my color too! I never contacted the owner because I was holding out for a car with HUD and a couple of other things. I found mine in OKC. I am really enjoying the car and I'm sure you will too. Worst part for me was I didn't have a C4 to sell before buying the c5.

I have head this alot and have no doubt it may be trouble prone but it sure is sweet while it's working. The CJ@ HVAC ( I never new the proper designation till now) is the same controls as I have in my 95 Impala SS and it has been 100% trouble free.

Last edited by f6john; Jan 19, 2011 at 09:39 PM. Reason: misread post. I have the Cj2 HVAC in my frc and the Impala has the same controls as RetiredSFC 97. But my point is the same.

Looks like you got a major score - I went from my 1990 as well into a C5 Coupe

Never look back - but it still has a place in my heart

Thanks,Matt
