Default New Shift **** :(

So I got one of those balck delrin plastic shift ***** and installed it today. (similar to attached image) This is the first aftermarket part to ever go on my z06. Call me a purist but I dont think I like it? It feels kind of cheap? I guess I just know in the back of my mind it was $30. I am also not sure I like the "stick" feel. My last shift **** was a perfect ball shape and seemed to fit my hand perfectly. Although I think I really like the leather feel of the factory ****.

Its not worth the S and h to send it back. I think I just wasted my money.

My car had a Delrin on it and I too didn't care for the shape. I replaced it with a 2.25" diameter ball **** and love it. It's much more ergonomic.

I felt of a stock **** later and it felt extremely squishy and less precise.

I can see that. Another part of me just feels that the z06 is so perfect the way it is. Any attempt to change it just reduces it prestiege.

Seriously, try this one. Next best **** is the MGW "Gripper". Seems like you could make your own, due to your business.

That thing resembles a female toy more so than a shift ****. I have the MGW Gripper shift **** but the C6 **** is nice too.

Not a fan of the "TOY" shape... I like round ones better. Leather wrapped is definatly the best feel IMHO... I just got a cheap black billet one on ebay, its a little smaller then i expected but i like it... for $19.95 shipped im complaining.. It does get cold/hot in weather like any metal **** will, i don't mind. The Gripper was my favorite looking one as for how comfertable it looks. I really don't like the shape of the stocker, i think it looks cheezy (cobalt SS ish) and fit my had right.

Do you recall the name(s) of the person(s) who said the Delrin **** is "the best"?

We're all made different. There's actually some owners who still like the oem square ****.

I thought long and hard about changing the oem **** when I got my car. I decided on the 2.25" HURST ****. That was over four years ago and I'm still happy with it.

I have done the stick-typer, C6, and now the cue-ball style. Right now I am using the WC Lathe Werks round metal **** that southerncarparts.com sells. I love this ****. It has such a solid feel when shifting. The brushed finish looks great. Here is a picture that looks just like the one I got.

What I really like about this **** is that it is in two pieces. I can take off the metal ball, and put on their other ***** whenever I feel like a change.

IMHO the engineers felt gear changing should be done with the palm of the hand resting atop the **** not held like a pistol???
