So I got one of those balck delrin plastic shift ***** and installed it today. (similar to attached image) This is the first aftermarket part to ever go on my z06. Call me a purist but I dont think I like it? It feels kind of cheap? I guess I just know in the back of my mind it was $30. I am also not sure I like the "stick" feel. My last shift **** was a perfect ball shape and seemed to fit my hand perfectly. Although I think I really like the leather feel of the factory ****.
Its not worth the S and h to send it back. I think I just wasted my money.
Not a fan of the "TOY" shape... I like round ones better. Leather wrapped is definatly the best feel IMHO... I just got a cheap black billet one on ebay, its a little smaller then i expected but i like it... for $19.95 shipped im complaining.. It does get cold/hot in weather like any metal **** will, i don't mind. The Gripper was my favorite looking one as for how comfertable it looks. I really don't like the shape of the stocker, i think it looks cheezy (cobalt SS ish) and fit my had right.
Do you recall the name(s) of the person(s) who said the Delrin **** is "the best"?
We're all made different. There's actually some owners who still like the oem square ****.
I thought long and hard about changing the oem **** when I got my car. I decided on the 2.25" HURST ****. That was over four years ago and I'm still happy with it.
I have done the stick-typer, C6, and now the cue-ball style. Right now I am using the WC Lathe Werks round metal **** that southerncarparts.com sells. I love this ****. It has such a solid feel when shifting. The brushed finish looks great. Here is a picture that looks just like the one I got.
What I really like about this **** is that it is in two pieces. I can take off the metal ball, and put on their other ***** whenever I feel like a change.
