Whats the difference between the older mgw shifters with the shaft that come straight up off the shifter and the newer ones the the shaft is offset? Is the whole shifter redesigned or is the only difference the location of the ****? I cant seem to find any info on the older design.
I called them and the person that answered the phone didnt know the answer and they have to get a one of the techs to call me back. I this is the next best place to ask the question...
Thanks for the help. That thread is from 08 and im sure the shifters have been updated since then but according to that I have the newest one. I wonder what updates they have done in the last 3 years... Once they call me back I will let you know what they say. Maybe George will post here.
The two, interchangeable, upper shafts were designed for the C5 (straight) and C6 (offset), from what I gathered when I ordered mine. The C6 offset typically had the style that held the C6 ****, which wasn't threaded, whereas the straight C5 upper shaft was threaded as per the stock ****. However, George would provide you with whatever combination you wanted. I ordered the offset shaft, but threaded to handle a C5 ****. It worked out perfectly, along with a Redlinegoods shorter shifter boot. I couldn't be happier with the result.

George called me back and said the only difference is the offset shaft allows you to change the location on the ****. They didnt make any changes to the actual shifter.
