I have a flat repair kit, as I do not run 'runflat tires'.
In there I also have a pair of channel locks, philips and flat head screw driver, & adjustable wrench

Nothing. Can't drive any further than about 25 miles from home here. If I took long trips, perhaps I would carry something. It's always the tool you don't have that you wind up needing anyway.

Yes, I carry a small tool box in my Vette. I have a selection of wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, pliers, etc. I tried to get the most common sizes of everything just in case I need them.
I ditched the run flats, so I carry a small bag with a can of TPS safe fix a flat, a tire repair kit, pliers and a mini air compressor. I got all of it, including the bag at Harbor Freight.

I carry tools/stuff in a C5 nylon logo bag as well. Inside I keep a Tire Repair kit/Slime, jumper cables, some adjustable wrenches, duct tape, a flashlight/batteries, an old sweatshirt, work gloves, an old, large beachtowel, cleaning supplies and microfiber towels. It all easily fits and barely takes up any space. It doesn't rattle or move around because I have an angled trunk partition that I shove it under.
It may be overkill, however crap happens when you least expect it.

this is pretty much what I have. and yes it is likely overkill but the first time I need it it won't be!! I originally put the tools in for my drive home after buying it (NJ to Edmonton Canada). no reason to take the tools out at this point.
I carry a small tool bag with detailing supplies, a quart of oil, various small hand tools, and a Conti Comfort kit (compressor). You never know when you'll need it, and it doesn't take up alot of space (compressor is in the storage compartment)

I try to keep an emergency kit in all my vehicles. I always keep an eye out for a sale on these type of items, especially soft case tool kits, roadside emergency stuff, etc. It really doesn't take up much space if you pack it well.
I have never had to use it and I hope I never will!
I have on of those Wal-Mart car tool kits I carry in all my vehicles. It includes the standard stuff, pliers, screwdrivers, sockets, but it is limited. And I have never needed it. Since I don't run "run-flats" I carry a can of Flat Fix, a plugging set, and a portable mini-compressor. It all fits easily under the large storage compartment in the trunk. Good Luck!!
Screwdrivers (flat-head and phillips of different sizes)
flex-driver with different bits.
Allen wrenches of various sizes both metric and standard.
Torx bits and a separate torx hand driver kit.
A can of DW-40.
A roll of double sided cushion tape.
Set of open-ended box wrenches both metric and standard.
Pliers - both needle-nose and standard.
Crescent wrench
3-LED Flashlight
Mechanic's Gloves
A spool of wire
Shop rags
... I'm sure there's more that I can't remember. LOL
Quart of oil and some shop towels. Can't really get away from civilization around these parts.
I live in Los Angeles, yet I will try to fix everything myself first. I don't trust "civilization" with my car.
The ironic thing is that I don't carry my tool bag around for MY car. LOL I carry it around for all the other cars that break down around me. You wouldn't believe how many cars I've fixed with that bag of tricks.
