column lock ?
i have a 99 6-spd with 23,000 miles. there has been two recalls performed for the column lock #04006 and #01044. what has been done to the car with these two recalls? i am guessing that the dealer has installed the k-harness and reprogramed the fuel shutoff.... i do have a COH simulator but i have not installed yet......

actually i have searched. there is ALOT of info. some vague, and it starts to get confusing. i just would like to know what was actually done in the two recalls that have been performed........ also what was performed in the E7501- GMVIS says locking parts,rack/sector/lock bolt/actuator rod,steering column-tilt- replace........ E7501, 04006 and 01044......i am just trying to prevent the dreaded column lock before it happens......clay

thank you 8vette7....i do have the spliced purple wire in the passenger foot well. i will check for the k-harness tomorrow when i install the clb......from what i understand i should install the clb and then remove and bypass the cl relay.....what is the best method for jumping the white and orange wire?.....should i cut the two wires and tie them together do the paper clip method.........clay
