Well, the wife and i were leaving the base and as I was going out and a Red C6 was driving in. I saw my comrade in arms driving by and gave him a steering wheel salute. My wife asked me, if i knew the guy, I said no, but since he is a vette owner, he can't be all that bad Well, none the less, she got all weird on me telling me that it is stupid to salute another vette owner...can I divorce her over that statement
It's just a woman thing. Mine doesn't even like my car kind of actually hates it ( took her spot in the garage ).But I figure if she doesn't like it she wont drive it.

Seems odd that she'd even feel the need to get "weird" about it. Has she never acknowledged and complimented another woman that had a nice purse or shoes?
My girl thinks I'm rude when I forget to acknowledge of Vette owners. lol
Really? dang. My wife has to get me or it's just not worth it. she doesn't have to understand it, just accept that it's a part of me. I don't always get excited about the things she likes but I try to accept thats just her. It's one thing not to get the salute or the wave but to complain about it or give you grief??? Wow! She needs to lighten up.

Face it, to some people a Corvette is just a means of getting from one place to another. They don't understand the mystique and history behind the car and the camradarie that goes with owning the car.
My wife is used to waving at others when we are on my motorcycle, so she gets the whole "brotherhood" thing. Since it was a long time between vettes for me, I wasn't sure if the vette "brotherhood" and waving were still happening when I got mine last month. But, so far, 3 other vettes I passsed or pulled up to all waved. Good to see some things never die.
My girlfriend brought this up as well when I first got my Vette last year lol. I told her.... "You have to wave at every Vette owner!.... they must be pretty cool right?!" lol. But she has gotten used to it and waves sometimes as well now .
My wife gets it. She even makes sure that I don't miss seeing a fellow 'Vette.
I'm like laurelboy - I sometimes wave at another 'Vette when I'm not in mine. I think that they'll know that I'm a brother. I would take it that way or at least know that someone appreciates the car.
The reason she doesn't understand the salute is the same reason we don't understand why women need 50 pair of shoes. One is a guy thing and the other is a woman thing. Go figure.

Venus / Mars. My wife doesn't understand it either. I think comradery is lost on a lot of women, but not all of them so keep your flames to yourselves ladies. Women who have been or are in the military and those who played sports when they were younger probably get it more than others.
