wondering about what´s the best upgrade in the drivetrain for the best $
i´m now at 500rwhp (ls2 404ci) been cutting 1.60-1.67 in 60ft at the track going out from 4200-4600rpms but a going to spray 100-150shots this summer
but i´m not gona spray threw 1st gear until i upgrade my drivetrain/diff
but what is recomended to upgrade (main shaft, outputshaft) or ?
and where is the best buy?
I´m running 2004 Z06 diff 3.42 and stock MN6 Tranny now Z06 suspension all parts are stock and SPEC 3+ steel flywheel
using cheaters slicks DOT 26"x11.5x16
we have the special tools to install new parts in the diff BTW.
RPM level 3? I ran the RPM level 2 in my Z06, but when my 08 fails, I will probably be running the level 3(630rwhp right now, probably 650-700rwhp soon)
Would C6 Z outputshafts only be enough...... and use the rest of the C5 Z diff &gear and axles
my friend went to TR6060 and went whith 300M shafts upgrade had Z06 tranny and diff has the outputshaft in stock
he's runing twin turbo setup
would that support me

A lot depends how hard you hit it off the line and what RPM you come out. Wheel hop cracks diffs if you dont let off in time. At the very least, 300M shafts and a trans/diff brace. The C6Z diff is much larger with more ribbing. The C6 ZR1 looks insane, even larger with a crazy amount off cross sectional ribbing for incredible strength. Big $$$$$$$

NA 500RWHP i'm going out on 4500rpms cutting 1.6 in 60ft and it has been ok many many many launches no wheel hop, just bit of spinning... on et streets dot slicks 26inch
but the plan is 100-150 shots so i think if i don't have a first gear lock out on the juice i'll break something, so either i try it like it is and hope it holds, and if i break then it's rebuild
or upgrade now... and of course i'm thinking of budget
cheapest way is going to C6 Z parts (but is that good enough)
but the RPM 300M sounds better but that mutch more cost
I got the Quaife upgrade after I munched the last diff. I'm very happy with it. I notice a more stable power delivery and improved traction. No more clutches...

They were on sale at the time, I think it was 800 for the hardware. I saw Katech running a sale on them once too. Also worth noting, they are perfectly quiet.

No wheelhop is great as well as spinning those tires. This will help prevent breakage. As for a 1.6x 60', it is not inducing a great deal of stress on the rear. 300M shafts are better but not a cure all. A built C6Z rear is the way to go if you are looking for the most protection against breakage. As you drop your 60', chances of breaking or twisting something becomes real. This is highly dependent on track prep, clutch engagement, tires, air pressure, HP/TQ (especially with nitrous), etc. Just be aware that nothing is bulletproof; however, beefing up these parts will allow more protection than your stock rear.
Good luck.
