Good choice on the headers. That 3 inch x pipe is nice. I had them on my C5Z. You should be running 7.5-7.6's in the 1/8 mile without any issues with the headers and cold air.

Mid 7's would be great, you all are pumping me up. I was gonna work a couple days of O.T. this week and buy my headers, but they canceled it so maybe next week, dang stingy boss's lol
As an 01Z owner(welcome by the way), as opposed to removing the cats since funds are tight, remove the stock H pipe and install an X-pipe (Bassani, Borla, etc.),keep the stock cats, with a mild tune should give you a nice bump about 15-17 hp. I should know because when I bought my 01, those are the first mods that i did. On the dyno , I was amazed at the increase, and those little mods showed a real difference. The exhaust growl is deeper, throttle response is crisper, and that should keep you satisfied, until better days are here. And by the way dont remove the flow screen from the MAF and dont by the so-called MAF-cold -air sensor from Granettelli. You will throw codes like crazy. I hope this helps.
I would just take the whole exhaust off including manifolds and run around town with your hood off! Serious hp gains
Sweet ideal, ill also through some air shocks on the back with some big cragars, oh and Ill add some furry seat covers, ill have to get a purple pair since you already have pink ones, nobody likes a copy cat lol
So you kept the stock manifolds on and added the x pipe to those?
The manifolds are original. Just install in steps. Attach the X-pipe with a tune and youll see quite a noticeable difference. Bassani sells a resonably priced X-pipe. You can take a look on E-bay and Amazon then compare with the prices at Corvette Central, Ecklers and Mid America. You should be able to save some coin this way.
