Default 1st time modding my 01

Ok guys I'm just throwing this out there for creative criticism, there are some very helpful people on here but if you have negative feed back just take it to the next thread. I have an 01 Z stock with just a CIA, when weather allows I'm going to remove all 4 cats and my friend Rob is gonna Dyno tune it for me. What kind of increases do you all predict for me. That's about all I can afford to do it it for now. Thank in advance.

Dang I was hoping more. I did a search on this a while back but can't remember the numbers they made, not to mention they had a couple more mods than me

The "pup" cats on the 01's were a nice restriction. Cat delete is great for those who dont mind the stink. I chose hi flow cats when I did my long tubes on my 03. Good luck!

I believe my tuned wants to use a Dyno jet to do the tune. I figured the tune alone would be worth 10 to 15 but I'm not experienced in this area

I know you said funds are tight but a set of lt headers are a huge diff. on these cars lots of torque but your looking at a 1k roughly on a cheaper set with x pipe. I would not waste you time on removing the cats just save up and do the headers, x pipe and a tune at the same time JMO
that with the cai 30-35hp at the wheels
Steve

You can buy an 02-04 H-pipe. Those did not have the pre-cats. It's an easy swap.

Yeah is love to change out the manifolds and or H pipe. But the money prob won't allow that for a while. Reason I'm going this rout is I have friends helping out and cost is estimated at 225 to 250 with Dyno rental and tune

Better to have low expectations and be pleased than high expectations and be dissapointed

True very true, the car runs strong as is and I just ordered some wider 315 too 888's. So I'm sure that ill be pleased with any gains. I'm just curious and seeing what input people have.

Yeah that may happen, after I get this done I plan on building up my nerves to run it down our 8th mile which is something I've never done before. Just thinking about it is exciting

That's cool. I was going to ask what you planned on replacing the mid-pipe with; something custom, or just route straight pipes to your catback? Doesn't matter if you're getting headers. There's some SS headers on fleabay that're even cheaper than the TS ones, I think. And SS is better than coated mild steel, IMO. Does the TS system come with mid-pipe?

I was going to get there conversion tubes that connect the LT's to your factory H pipe. I agree on stainless being better, I was looking at those TSP brands because my friend recommended for their price and he has had his for about 5 yrs now.
