Default Lowering my C5??

I was looking to lower my 98 to give it a more aggressive look and to fill up the wheel well space. I want to lower it by adjusting the car but do I need to change the stock shocks? How much can I lower it without really creating a hard ride bc it is an everyday driver? If I do need to change from stock what should I go with? Thanks.

I agree - lower it on stock bolts as far as it will go. I lowered mine a few weeks ago and didn't cut any of the bushings. It made the ride a little harsher, but nothing unbearable. I'm glad I lowered it, as it greatly improved the look. Now I need to get the alignment checked.

Slam it!! If you get crazy go with the C6 rear bolts and no bolts up front.

Cut 4 of the 6 ribs on the rear bushings and lower all the way leaving 2 threads and same for front, I can't go any lower in front due to the 4 inch blower piping but its still 2 fingers between wheelwell and tire vs entire hand at stock, ride quality not affected handling is better and more responsive... ill post pics of mine once home as I'm on pda now with out pictures... good luck!!!

Lower it on the stock bolts and if you want it even lower, you can cut the bushings.

I cut my wheel gap in half with a 1.5" drop. Its my daily driver as well. The ride isn't too bad for me. Some people who ride with my think it rides rough. But it can be harsh. I also have bilstein shocks.

Every inch lower you go absolutely makes the ride somewhat harsher. I lowered mine as far as it would go and found it to be a little bit too harsh. I've raised and lowered it several times until the look is good and the ride is tolerable.

I find that about 4.75" at the front (jacking point to ground) is the lowest I can go before ride degrades quickly.

I lowered mine all the way in the front and back but then after the suspension settled the rear was lower than the front so I raised it about 1/2 inch in the back for a balanced look. Ride quality is the same IMO (z51 package with Bilstein HD shocks). No problems with driving around town but you have to be careful - the rubber air dam rubs more.
