I have an 01 coupe and to pass the time this winter, I did a suspension overhaul including caliper rebuild and paint (red). I have issues with two things: First, the bleeders go to the top, correct? My drivers side front caliper bleeder is located in a different location than right side, not a mirror image of the right front like I believe it should be (right?). Bleeder on top to let air out, correct? Second issue is the bleeder on the left front does not stop leaking fluid, even when tight, I switched bleeders from left to right with no luck. Am I missing something here? Thanks for any ideas!
Bleeder fittings are on top.
You sure the fluid continues to leak from the orifix of the bleeder fitting & not from the threaded fitting hole of the caliper?(possible hailine crack?)
Being you switched fittings from side to side, seems as the caliper may be cracked at the bleeder hole.
Try putting some sort of thread sealer on the fitting as in (teflon tape, dope, etc) Hope fully that will take care of it.
If it does stop leaking, you may want to start searching for a set of calipers.
I run into a problem with the left front leaking when I put on powder coated calipers. The new one leaked. I was told there was a problem with that caliper (front left) and it has happened to others. I was sent a new one and all was fine. Not sure how true it is. The bleeder screw threads were stripped on mine.
