Default Hawk hps brake pads

After reading some of your comments on rotors, I ordered slotted ones. They have not arrived yet, but the hawk hps pads did.
How do you guys like these pads?

I like them, good bite, no squeeling. They hum on every car I've used them on though. Minor annoyance.

burn them in from several speeds to 0 mph, 30 60 etc. I didn't get a chance to do all that as I had to drive home 40 miles with an untuned newly cammed car. after the tune I did do some braking stuff,,,,I like 'em just fine!

1.After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.
2.Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
3.DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
4.Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
5.After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

Had them on my '00 - very good pads. When I need new pads on my '03, will go with the Hawks.

Thanks for all your replies, and the break in procedures. For my application, TPS did not recommend the drilled rotors, just the slotted ones.

Just drove them for the first time today after breaking them in

Big improvement over stock so far but my old pads were in really bad condition. Firm braking and silent. cant comment on dust levels yet

I've had the Hawk HP's for 3 years now along w/ Brembo drilled and slotted rotors and would use them again. Quiet, good braking performance but as far as the dust I clean them a lot - they do appear to have a fair amount of dust.

Dito, changed the fronts to HPS's and the backs were still original and now there is more brake dust on the back wheels then fronts after a week or so of daily driving
Seems to stop a little better also

Looking at the pads in the box, I see that the front pads look robust, while the back pads look like they belong to a Honda Civic.

Front brakes are usually bigger than rear brakes...

Used HPS pads on my car. Love them!

Installed in Apr 08, lasted to Jan 2011 on a daily driver with R1 Concepts D/S rotors.
