Default Valve stems

Can you regular valve stems in corvette wheels or do you have to use the TPMS? Just wondering....!

You do not have to use tpms sensors, after 2000 or 01 you can program them out so you will not get the message across your dash board. And just so you know the Zo6 did not have tpms sensors from the factory.

And it is the 2001 and newer ones that the TPMS can be tuned out.

You don't have to run sensors, but if running non-runflats then I would think you need the sensors even more. JMO.

The reason they put the sensors on runflats is because you cant tell when they are getting low like you can non runflats.

I understand your point, but my point is you now do not have the safety factor built in and need the sensors even more without runflats.

I personally would like to have them either way but if you run the non runflats without sensors and you can not tell that they are low you run the risk of the tire failing catastrophically. I talked with a guy who ran his at highway speeds and made it within a mile of his house when he saw the tread from his tire going past him, he also traveled less that 50 miles on it. So if you are unaware of the runflat losing air pressure it could end up really bad where as with a standard tire you will know when it goes flat and wont drive on it.

When I bought my non runflats,I didn't have the spare $425.00 laying around for new tpms for my 98 (the previous owner chucked the originals when he got runflats installed) ,so I'm running "Commando" with a compressor, plug kit,AAA card, and a cellphone.
I just keep a close eye on the tires, and if I run over a nail and get a flat,I'll fix it.(very familiar with the tire plugging procedure)
If I happen to have a blowout, tpms aren't going to do squat for me anyway...
