As of right now i have a 95 gmc 2wd v6 power nothing no cruise control reg cab for what i drive in the winter to get me around. as for the summer i drive a 02 vette. i'm thinking of selling both and getting a 04-06 6.0 lifted tires rims the whole 9yards. i am sick of driving this piece of **** in the winter just wondering what you guys think of this. no more vette but have a good truck for the winter.
Seriously, what do you think we're gonna say? You're on the Corvette Forum and you're asking us whether it's a good idea to get rid of your vette to get a Ford truck. Do you really need our advice on this one?
I'll give it anyway...............DON'T DO IT MAN!!!

Do what you have to do. I've given up my Vettes before for what I thought was a better vehicle for my needs - seems like I have always come back to a Vette though.

i'd buy an older 7.3 before a 6.0
...but then again, that's only if i completely lost my mind and got conned into buying a Ford.
if you want a better winter truck, just swap that one for a NBS with 4x4. the 4.8 will get you about the same mileage & have a bit more power as well as the extra assurance of the front wheels helping pull you through the snow. it's a smoother-riding platform & will be better-suited for a DD than a 3/4 ton ford
You're going to miss that vette if you sell it. Seriously, who cares what you drive during the winter. People are pissed off that it's cold and nobody is paying any attention to what you are driving. Are you trying to pick up chicks or something?
If anything, sell the beater and buy a late 7.3 or early 6.0L Powerstroke. I picked up an 03 Lariat with 70K miles for $14,000.

You better read up on that 6.0 Powestroke. They've had major problems with head gaskets, oil coolers, egr coolers, exhaust pressure sensors, etc, etc...
My pal had one in my garage for a week and it ended up being just the oil cooler gasket leaking oil from the high pressure pump into the coolant.
Where you live you need a 4x4 so do what your budget allows to fit your needs. Personally I wouldn't have a vette for a DD. But then again I don't have to.
My every day ride is a 98 Windstar soccer mom van. It is not cool but it gets the job done and I still have the vette for fun. To me it is worth it to drive a less than cool beater and still have a vette. Only you can make the choice that best suits your needs and wants.
get a 4x4 and you will be happier about life in the winter. I had a lowered ext cab chev 2wd the first winter I had the vette. I got stuck on flat surfaces in that damn thing. loved the truck but it was more of a summer car than any kind of truck. picked up a 4x4 2 or 3 winters ago and haven't looked back. the 4x4 is key!!! now winter is liveable and summer is awesome because of the vette! keep the vette and pick up a 4x4. as far as the ford goes
btw, if you get a lifted diesel, I think you have to move to alberta...the rig rocket is our provincial animal
