Default First Vett is a work in progress

Hi everybody:

Picked up my first Vett, a week ago, she's a 1998.
Fun to drive, but she has some issues.

Let me first say I've read the 1st 28 pages in the DIY section.
And I seem to have more questions than when I started.

The car shuts down and gives a traction system error.
I pop her into neutral turn the key off, let the dash lights go out restart her and away we go. I've been assuming it was the Delphi/Delco EBCTM module. Today I pulled the codes and got P0103, Mass Air Flow or VAF flow sensor. Circut High Freq. error and a P1125 Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) System. Now I'm lost.

Any ideas would sure be helpful.

And I'll try to post some pictures soon

Thanks Ralph

Congrats on the purchase...there are some issues to work thru on these cars but driving them makes up for it...

It is a he** of a lot of fun to drive.
I wasn't expecting 19mpg around town.

She is in pretty good shape, 116k on the odometer.
And plenty of get up and go.

May need to clean the Mass Air Flow sensor(MAF) with MAF cleaner or if that doesn't work you could replace it with a stock one. I'm guessing it's really dirty. At 116k miles i would look into a decent tune up if it hasn't been documented that it's been done. One thing would be to change plugs and wires(probably have never been done), fuel filter, air filter(go with aftermarket intake system if it was me). Also if your alright with trying your own work i'd look into change the rear diff fluid and trans fluid. It sounds like alot of things to do but the car will run like a top if most of this hasn't been done. Prevent damage BEFORE it breaks. Enjoy the car, if you can do most of this stuff yourself you will save alot of money plus get some wrench time to appreciate your new car

P.S. i'm not sure how old you are or if your comfortable bending over the car or crawling around under but i personally love doing my own work if i think i can do it. But i'm 27 now so it's about time i just bring it to the shop for work haha

I did my rear diff and trans fluid at 107k miles and it was filthy and the rear diff feels like it's alot smoother and the trans shifts much better(6 speed manual). Just tryin' to help a fellow Corvette'r out with some suggestions.
