It has been shaking for quite awhile when you really get on the gas, or are cruising in 6th gear, so I took apart the center console and shift mechanism and made sure to lube everything real well and tighten everything to spec. The shift **** is stock and the locking key thing was super tight. Took it out for a test and it is exactly the same. Any thoughts?
Also, how do you tell if your torque tube couplers are worn or bad? doing clutch soon and was curious if I should replace mine. Car's a 99 with 68,000miles.
It could be caused by a out of balance tire.
Your steering wheel would have some vibration too. drive the car at a speed where the shifter vibrates and lightly place you finger tips on the steering wheel, if it vibrates, you should have the balance and alignment checked.
