I have been checking out the fantastic modified/custom C5 interiors and was curious what mod color combination would look best with Medium Spiral Gray vert with a black interior? Mod Red or Mod Gray?
Although the project is currently on hold, I'm still planning to update my interior in the future and trying to get some good examples. I think mod red works with most exterior colors, however not sure if a light gray would look as nice. Thoughts?
Below are a few examples I've pulled off the forum and the VE website...
Here is mine maybe to help. Standard OEM Light Grey interior option. Took OEM Black seat skins and my light grey and made my own custom seats with OEM materials. Also the silver gauges to top it off
Red is no better contrast to Spiral Gray than, let's say... Blue.
Mod Gray is my choice. Subtle is best, don't add too much... dont want it to look like a clown exploded in your car.
Couldn't agree more I know I am prejudice, just can't stand red on any car and when it gets into color stitching, and a ton of red ugh! - just to much. Keep it clean and use the accent color to accent and enhance the major color. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks. I've seen some very nice Pewter & MSG C5s with mod red interiors, however not that many. Laurie (Tomboy) has a very nice custom interior and Mr. Bill also has a nice OEM Torch Red interior so it can be done.
Since I have an all-black interior with black carpeting, the only gray color I will add will be the leather trim, i.e. seats, shifter/boot, E-Brake/boot, door pulls, etc. I might also add some (real) CF trim, i.e. steering wheel top, shifter, etc. so that might mix better with gray as well.
I have Spiral grey as well and after seeing your examples I thought I would end up liking the red however I agree with the majority in that the light grey looks much better. Don't forget to post up pics once you do it for guys like me. Good luck.

I will definitely post pics when I complete the interior mod. I hope to get it done yet in 2011, however I have some career/financial obligations that are currently taking priority over my mod fund. However, it does give me some extra time to research all options.
The challenge I have is finding mod grey examples with a black interior. The pics I posted earlier already have either OEM grey carpet and/or grey OEM trim. I'm searching for more pics of black/grey leather seats/trim with black carpet and panels.
I've seen many more red examples so that's probably why I was originally leaning in that direction, however after seeing more custom grey seats, it really looks nice.
At the end of the day, I originally chose the black interior because I like the way it looks. However I just want to add enough color to break it up a little.
