This would be MY choice!!Different from stock black seats,,but classy and a little more subtle!!
Thanks for the feedback. I should have added a poll to this thread, however it appears gray is the favorite so far. "Classy" is a descriptive term that keeps appearing over and over so I guess that color combo with MSG gives that impression.
What's funny is that I was at a show last fall and saw a fantastic Anniversary Red C5 with a custom VE interior that really accented the car. It was very "classy". The car didn't even place in the show and the winner was a custom yellow C5 with IMO a very loud yellow/black/white and hydrocarbon yellow interior.
While performing some searches, I came across these pics on another website. A very rare MSG Coupe with OEM Torch Red interior. A little too much red for my taste, however it is unique and a very clean/nice C5.

the mod gray would look super in your car. If it were TR, I recommend the black/red interior.
Thanks for the input. The mod red I was considering was primarily the black (carpet/trim) with some red sections. The full torch red interior (as posted above) was not the look I was considering. Just a rare find.
It seems like the Light Gray is the best option. I really like the OEM black/gray door panels, however I wonder if GM even produces them anymore? I know they discontinued the mod red door panels. Either way, I could perhaps dye them if I go that direction.
I like red too, thus the dilemma. Both colors/trims look great. I think Laurie (Tomboy) really pulled off the custom mod red look on her MSG vert and that's when the mod red bug bit me...
I just happened to check out the board tonight and see your post. Now, you know for sure what I would pick. Just a reminder how nice the red looks. But, I do have a total theme to go along with it. I think the whole picture of what you want to do will help you decide. On my car, I had a few grays here and there. Found for me, it toned the car down to much for the shows. For daily driving, the grey would be great but for the shows, the red stands out. OBTW, just saw your above post with my pics. Thanks for the compliment. Still looks great inside but the outside looks even better now!

Really a tough choice. Both combos look very good with MSG but personally I would go with mod red. I had a mod red interior in my pewter '00 and loved the look.
Went with a Mod Gray interior on my '03 EB. So I do like both.
The good thing I have going is that I currently have an all-black interior so it's an easier mod IMO to simply add another color. As Laurie mentioned, it's important to have an end theme in mind prior to starting.
I have two end themes in mind (red & gray) with slightly different results. Overall, I think the mod gray gives me a little more flexibility and will better compliment some (real) CF trim I am considering.
So far, all of the major forum vendors have been great in helping me by answering questions, offering suggestions, etc. The options I'm considering are not cheap so I want to make sure I weigh them accordingly.
Although I like participating in shows, my goal is not necessarily to win over judges, rather to improve on an already great GM design. Laurie's car obviously has a "wow" factor. I love the C5 cockpit (especially the passenger dash area in comparison to the C6), however we all know the quality of the materials, audio system, etc. can be improved.
Go with Mod Gray, especially with a dark exterior. Corvettes are already a pretty "flashy" ride so more flash pushes the envelope. However, I am old and like chrome wheels vs. the trend toward black wheels. I think it would be interesting to know the ages that go with the opinions.

Not to muddy the waters but .... I have an 03 MSG with Grey interior, Sandy at VE sent me a swatch of light grey and carbon fiber black, there was a thread on here with a car done in the carbon fiber and I liked it except it was a bit too much carbon fiber for me, hence the grey to offset it. You can also get the leather in MSG, which is darker but almost a perfect match to the outer color. Sandy said they don't have that but ask Matt, he sent me some a while back.
