Mine IS a daily driver...and I gotta tell you, every time I go downtown and get forced into a high curb parking place I COVET the lifting doors..You just can't know how tired I am of dealing with lower door edges scraping on concrete, or having to squeeze through a barely opened door to minimize damage...Sometimes you HAVE to park in these crummy spots....If you have the few inches to open sideways, and can then just lift, problem solved! The lift doors that I have seen in person also allow normal operation, don't know if all the kits are this way, but if you have the choice to swing wide, or lift, THAT makes sense for a daily driver, at least to ME.....Your mileage [ opinion] may vary!

While you're at it, why don't you get a kit to make the hood open normally?

I personally dont see anything wrong with vertical doors, even though i dont have them. In the general population, it gets a lot of attention, not just at car show, but everywhere. Believe me the people on this forum are not the whole general population, only .005 %. So who cares if you dont like them. A corvette is a corvette with or without Vertical doors. And vertical doors doesnt change the appearance of the car. Bottom Line most people think they're unique, unlike the people on here. But when you ride out in your vertical doors, you most likely wont run into somebody from this forum, think about it

I personally like the doors going out to the side more.. But, my wife and several other passengers seem to make a habit out of how hard they can slam it open into immovable objects next to my car, so.. Think Imma go with the lambo doors at some point after the damage to that door gets to the point of repair. Vette doors really are longer than most other cars and people tend to push them open and let them go. So theres one plus outside looks..
