cons would include: makes you look like a ricer.....

ok.... so that may be harsh, but there is no mod I hate worse. If you like it and want to do it, to each his own, but most people laugh at civics that have them because it looks like they are trying to act like they drive a lambo when they don't, and I think the same applies to lambo doors on a vette. It's a vette, not a lambo, embrace it.

I think they look dorky. In the corvette world there is a couple hundred better ways to spend that kind of cash. I would choose adding HP over something visual anyday.

There will always be some who doesn't like what someone else does. If you want Lambo door hinges GO FOR IT!

It's your ride and you paid for it.

Pros: Very popular at car shows. They get a lot of attention and most car show attendees like them.

Cons: 99% of Corvette Forum members hate them, and will razz you mercilessly.

I have the Vertical Doors Inc. hinges, and they've worked fine for me.

Personally, I think they look OK on a "car show" car...I wouldn't bother putting them on a daily driver.

Oh, and inB4 that stupid "played out" jpg.

I agree with this. Very popular at shows. Can be used like a normal door and then put them up if at a show. I am of the minority here and I like them. I have the Dream Car Custom version on mine and am happy with them. Have not had any issues with them yet.

I have the LSD Hinges made in Germany!! Lifetime warranty, safety crash tested, and a much heavier hinge than most kits out there. The only problem I have had is the gas shock going out a few times but that is because of the high humidity we have down here in the South. I just call them up and they send me a new shock no charge at all. No problems outside of that!! They are more expensive than most kits but well worth the money. At shows people ask allot of questions about the operation of hinges and how they are made, but I can tell you I have gotten more awards with the vertical doors than without. I have had mine on for three years and don't regret it at all!!

I have the GT Factory kit on my car and love them.
You will find not alot of people on here like them. I wanted mine for two reasons. ONE my wife told me she didnt car ehow much it cost put them on
Two i use my carr to advertise for my business. It allows everyone to see what a double din conversion looks like and not have them hanging on the door of the car looking in.

I went with GT Factory because of the looks and quality.
I liked how the doors went more up than out. GT Factory is no longer selling them as ontoher popular VERTICLE DOORS company made them stop.

The cons.
Alot of people do not like them.
If you drive your car alot on everday type basis I would say do not get them. They do open up so you can get in and out of them without raising them but on everyday use. I would never do it.
People want to mess with them at car shows raising and lowering. Drives me nuts!
not installing correctly or buying a cheap kit and having issues with them opening and closing. DO NOT BUY CHEAP!

The pros
If you like attention then its a must
Car shows - the doors draw alot of attention and alot of pictures.
Its easy to clean and vacum
If done right and installed correctly a good kit will open and shut like normal everytime. I have no issues with mine.
Conversation piece. Its amazing how many people will come up to you and start random conversations because of the doors. I have meet alot of new friends and car guys just simply because the doors drew thier attention and we started talking
The best one--chicks dig them

Few pic of mine

oh and chicks dig them

I have vertical doors inc and they get large crowds checking them out and yet so many on forum bash them. I do not use them to enter car daily , just for shows . If I had to do again I would buy the LSD, less bounce in them when lowering door to close. I am not familiar with the gt factory ones that DD has . Do not go too cheap and risk the metal hinges being not of the quality you should have. Only con is you get a little more water in the sill area, not in car but water and dust can get in the lower sill. If you like shows and showing off then to me go for it and who cares what others think. Like Blue Dragon mentioned we go to local shows and out of town shows and people come in droves to check out the cars with the lambo style doors, to me I refer to them as vertical doors.
